Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

Nexus Bot is a Discord bot providing gaming and virtual economy features including but not limited to:

• Virtual economy system with currency management
• PvP gaming (Rock Paper Scissors, coin flip, dice battles)
• Inventory management and item trading
• Leaderboards and statistics tracking
• Daily rewards and achievements
• Shop system for purchasing virtual items
• User profile and balance tracking

Nexus Bot is part of the Eclipse Engine bot ecosystem and shares certain security features with other Eclipse Engine bots.

2. Eligibility and Requirements

2.1 Discord Terms

You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when using Nexus Bot.

2.2 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your country) to use Nexus Bot. While the bot includes betting features, these use only virtual currency with no real-world value and are for entertainment purposes only.

2.3 Server Permissions

To use Nexus Bot, you must:

• Have appropriate permissions in your Discord server
• Grant the bot necessary permissions to function properly
• Have legal authority to bind your server to these terms

3. Acceptable Use Policy

3.1 Permitted Uses

You may use Nexus Bot for:

• Entertainment and gaming within your Discord server
• Building community engagement through economy features
• Fair play in PvP games and trading
• Legitimate participation in the virtual economy

3.2 Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use Nexus Bot to:

• Violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
• Cheat, exploit bugs, or use automation tools
• Create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages (alt abuse)
• Manipulate the economy through exploits or glitches
• Harass other users or engage in toxic behavior during games
• Attempt to reverse engineer or hack the bot
• Share exploits or cheating methods with others
• Claim virtual items or currency have real-world value
• Attempt to sell or trade virtual items for real money
• Use the bot for any commercial purposes without permission
• Spam commands or abuse bot features
• Engage in win-trading or match fixing

4. Virtual Economy Rules

4.1 Virtual Currency

Virtual currency in Nexus Bot:

• Has no real-world monetary value
• Cannot be purchased with real money
• Cannot be exchanged for real money or goods
• Can be earned through gameplay, dailies, and achievements
• Can be lost through games, trades, or as penalties for rule violations

4.2 Virtual Items

Virtual items in Nexus Bot:

• Are purely cosmetic or functional within the bot only
• Have no real-world value or ownership rights
• Can be modified, removed, or reset at any time
• Are not transferable outside of the bot's trading system

4.3 Economy Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Adjust item prices, drop rates, and economy balance
• Add, remove, or modify virtual items
• Reset individual or server-wide economy data
• Remove currency or items obtained through exploits
• Implement new economy features or remove existing ones

5. Anti-Cheat and Fair Play

5.1 Cheating Detection

We actively monitor for and prohibit:

• Use of automation tools, bots, or macros
• Exploitation of bugs or glitches
• Multi-accounting or alt abuse
• Win-trading or match fixing
• Transaction manipulation or duplication exploits

5.2 Penalties for Cheating

Users found cheating may face:

• Complete economy reset (loss of all currency and items)
• Temporary or permanent ban from using the bot
• Removal from leaderboards
• Loss of achievements and progress

5.3 Reporting

You should report suspected cheating or exploits through our support server. Do not publicly share exploit details.

6. PvP Gaming and Betting

6.1 Fair Play

All PvP games must be played fairly. Collusion, win-trading, or any form of match fixing is strictly prohibited.

6.2 Betting Disclaimer

PvP betting features use only virtual currency with no real-world value. This is for entertainment only and does not constitute real gambling. No gambling laws or regulations apply.

6.3 Game Outcomes

Game outcomes are determined by the bot's systems. We do not guarantee fairness or specific probabilities. You accept that:

• Game results are final
• Technical issues may affect outcomes
• We do not provide refunds for lost virtual currency

7. Leaderboards and Public Information

By using Nexus Bot, you consent to:

• Your statistics being displayed on public leaderboards
• Your game history being visible to other users
• Your achievements and progress being publicly viewable

You may request to opt-out of leaderboards while retaining your account data.

8. Blacklist System

8.1 Purpose

Nexus Bot participates in the Eclipse Engine shared blacklist system to protect communities from servers that violate Discord's or our terms.

8.2 Blacklist Actions

If your server is blacklisted:

• Nexus Bot will automatically leave your server
• You will be unable to re-invite the bot
• The blacklist is shared across all Eclipse Engine bots

8.3 Appeals Process

Blacklist appeals can be submitted through our support server with evidence of corrective action.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

9.1 Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Protection against data loss or corruption
• Specific uptime percentages
• Preservation of economy data during technical issues

9.2 Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any features at any time
• Update game mechanics, economy balance, or item values
• Change these Terms of Service with notice
• Reset economy data for maintenance or anti-cheat purposes

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of Nexus Bot is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using Nexus Bot, you consent to our data collection and usage practices.

11. Intellectual Property

11.1 Ownership

Nexus Bot, including its code, features, design, virtual items, and branding, is owned by the Eclipse Engine project. All rights reserved.

11.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Nexus Bot for entertainment purposes. This license does not grant you any ownership rights to virtual currency, items, or any aspect of the bot.

12. Liability and Disclaimers

12.1 No Warranty

12.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for loss of virtual currency, items, or progress
• We are not liable for technical issues, bugs, or exploits
• We are not responsible for disputes between users
• Our total liability shall not exceed $0

12.3 No Real-World Value

We are not liable for any claims that virtual currency or items have real-world value. By using Nexus Bot, you acknowledge that no virtual assets have real-world worth.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nexus Bot, Eclipse Engine, and its operators from any claims arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the bot
• Your violation of these Terms of Service
• Your violation of Discord's Terms or any applicable laws
• Disputes with other users regarding virtual items or currency

14. Termination

14.1 Termination by You

You may stop using Nexus Bot at any time. This will not automatically delete your economy data.

14.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Cheating, exploiting, or abusing the economy
• Toxic behavior or harassment
• Any reason at our sole discretion

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, you lose all access to your virtual currency, items, and progress. No refunds or compensation will be provided.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced through our support server.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by applicable laws. Disputes should first be resolved informally through our support server before pursuing formal action.
